Medium: Digital
I wanted the piece to have the flavor of a traditionally done piece, but I did not try to mimic one specific medium.
It only took about a month and a half (probably about 45 hrs total spread out over that time--I had to fit it in around my two year old and my pregnancy-incuded tiredness) but it is finally done! I ordered the print today. :)
This piece was done on commission from a friend of mine. The idea of the picture is "The forces of darkness against the soldiers of light." "Determination in the face of overwhelming odds." "Evil is creepy but good will triumph." Stuff like that.
I'd like to thank my husband and my sister who modeled for these characters. And I'd especially like to thank my husband for pushing me to make the monsters scarier. Without him, they would look mildly upset (and not at all scary) at best.
This piece is available as a limited-edition print. Contact me if you're interested.

Battlefield Commission Composition
Medium: Digital
I have a commission to do a battlefield scene, and this is one composition possibility. I have a few other ideas, but this is what my husband and sister both thought was more what the client wanted. What do you think?

Rusty Swirl
Medium: Digital photography
I actually took this picture a while ago, but I found it today in my "Texture Reference" folder. I love the contrast, the shapes, and yes, the texture of this photograph.

Be Nice--This is my first drawing for a while
Medium: Digital graphite pencil (I made the brush--I'm really happy with how realistic it worked out.)
I went to college to become an artist, but since graduating, I've not done much art at all. But that's going to change! Here is a sketch I did yesterday of my sister. What do you think? It's not perfect by any means, but I'm just pleased that I actually completed a portrait. I plan to do a lot more artwork starting now!
